Tamisha Houston enters her 4th year as Head Coach of the Tigerettes after serving as varsity assitant for two years. Coach Houston is currently in her 11th year of coaching overall having spent one year at Blinn College, 2005(Brenham), three years at McLennan Community College, 2006-2009(Waco), two years at Navasota High, 2009-2011 and one year at Huntsville High, 2011-2012. All of these programs were successful and had great leadership. Coach Houston contributes a lot of her passion and knowledge to the coaches that she worked under, especially Tommy Gates (Navasota High) and Ricky Rhodes (McLennan) for whom she both played and worked.
A proud 2001 graduate of Navasota High School, #OnceaRattlerAlwaysaRattler, she was a four year varsity letter winner in basketball and track and was involved in cheerleading for two years. She then played college basketball for McLennan Community College (2001-2003), St. Mary's University (2003-2004), and Tarleton State University (2004-2005). She holds an Associates Degree in General Studies(2003), Bachelor's Degree in Exercise and Sports Studies (2005) Masters Degree in Physical Education (2008) and a Principal Certification (2017).
Coach Houston and her husband, Allen, have been married for six years and the two spend much of their time watching basketball, football, and sportscenter while debating about sports. They also enjoy attending sporting and music events in their free time when they are not with family. They have 6 amazing god-children.
